Transition from Avaya to Zoom Phones - Late 2023-Early 2024

Audience: Employees

If you are not employed by Virginia Tech Engineering and do not have a university phone, you can ignore this information.

The University is changing Phone systems.

Engineering Deans Office: Our ORG number is 034500 and our Service Manager is Jeanette Biczel - jbiczel@vt.edu

Other Engineering units: Contact your IT office to find out who is your service manager.

What do you need to do?

For Deanery Employees:

If you believe you still have an Avaya Phone, check your email for a questionnaire link from Jeanette Biczel, our Phone Service Manager or contact her directly.

New Employees / New Phone Lines

Requests for new phones will be assigned Zoom Phone service, as Avaya is being phased out.

If you currently have an Avaya Branded phone on your desk, it will no longer function after this change.
